Michael Ayotte (MSTOM, LAc)), graduated with honors, from the prestigious Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City. He received a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (TCM). He is a Practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and a licensed Acupuncturist in the state of New York.
His expertise is in Chinese Medicine, but he was also trained in Japanese and Korean techniques. Many of his professors were from China's hospital system, giving him the invaluable education needed to correctly apply TCM theory and design individual, effective treatment plans.
As Vice-President of student council he created the first student driven symposium in NYC. He was proactive in student affairs and legal initiatives and petitions for the advancement of Oriental Medicine, with The Acupuncture Society of New York (ASNY).
An externship was completed at St. Vincent's Hospital in NYC, where Michael administered Chinese medical care to patients with severely compromised immune systems, working closely with Western medical doctors suggestions and recommendations.
It was also a great experience to volunteer for The Fortune Society, a very respected non profit organization committed to helping in the rehabilitation of past incarcerated peoples.
He completed an internship with Dr. Shi, providing health care for many different types of cancer in all stages of the disease (support and side effects of chemo/radiation treatments). An internship with Nigel Dawes, one of the top Japanese Acupuncturist in the field was completed.
As an observer, assistant and intern at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine-NY he became experienced with a wide range of diseases and disorders such as:
PTSD (especially those personally affected by 9/11), lyme, fibromyalgia, bi polar, insomnia, pain management, musculoskeletal injuries, allergies, dermatitis, eczema, digestive dysfunctions, and infertility to name a few
With more than 13 years of experience as a Practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Michael is excited to have returned to Upstate NY, and proud to be providing St. Lawrence County with his thorough knowledge in experience gained from a busy and diverse metropolitan atmosphere to his hometown.
